I have visited the Hinds Head many times with excellent food and service and the most recent was definitely my favourite!
I had the duck main which was duck breast, (cooked perfectly) duck spring rolls, asparagus, bok choi, cheesy leek potato gratin and a plumb sauce. It was the best meal I've had in months, absolutely perfect! The service was excellent and the pub was busy as always so there was a lovely atmosphere.
Will definitely be back soon and please don't ever take that main off the menu 🙂
Thanks to all at the Hinds Head xx

TASTIEST MEAL EVER!

We visited for the first time on a Saturday evening and were bowled over by the quality of food, we shared 2 starters the prawns and the scallops both were excellent and plentiful, the lamb main was delicious followed by one of the best Crème Brûlée I have ever tasted. The food and wine is very reasonably priced and despite it being busy you couldn't fault the service, friendly and efficient. My only slight criticism was that the beef main wasn't available. In summary a lovely evening and I'm sure we will return on many occasions.

EXCELLENT

We were looking for a restaurant for Sunday lunch within easy travelling distance for 3 families. My husband remembered The Hinds Head from many years ago. The website looked good so we thought we would give it a go.
Even from the initial booking we were impressed, great communication and when we were asked to pre order as there were 10 of us, it really wasn't a problem.
When we arrived we were directed to the conservatory, just like having our own private dining room, the french doors were open leading to a small area with benches. A lovely spot for us to have a pre dinner drink in the sunshine.
Whilst only two of our party had starters, they looked fantastic. English muffin with black pudding, crispy bacon, poached egg and hollandaise sauce and thai fish cakes with a chilli sauce. Both were complimented and not a scrap was left on the plates.
If the starters were anything to go by, we were looking forward to the main courses and we were not disappointed. Our individual plates of roast beef, turkey, lamb and pork belly all with roast potatoes were delivered, presented to the highest standard with an individual gravy boat. Two of our party had red onion and cranberry tart and they too looked fabulous. And then the accompliments arrived and just kept coming. Mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, new potatoes, Yorkshire puddings (and not just for those who had beef, there was one for all!) and cauliflower cheese, the table was groaning with the amount of delicious food. Not a word was spoken as everyone tucked into the amazing array of perfectly cooked food.
We rested for a short while before our desserts were served. Again, a stunning display of colours and flavours decorated with true craftsmanship. We had lemon tart, Crème Brûlée, raspberry cheesecake, chocolate brownie and bread and butter pudding. Delicious!!!
The Hinds Head is exceptional value for money.
The service was unobtrusive, friendly and professional, just perfect!
We had a wonderful Sunday lunch and can't wait to return.
